Enjoy lunch surrounded by 600 million year old mountain peaks and an abundance of Australian wildlife. After lunch, travel through the picturesque Pichi Richi Pass to the historic township of Quorn and on to Warren Gorge Conservation Park to search for the rare and elusive yellow-footed rock wallaby. Wake to the call of native birdlife and enjoy breakfast as the sun rises over South Australia's iconic Wilpena Pound. Wildlife including kangaroos, emus and the bold wedge tailed eagles are prolific in this rugged area. After a picnic lunch, travel back to Rawnsley Park via the spectacular Moralana Scenic Track following the south-western wall of Wilpena Pound. Settle down under millions of stars and enjoy your dinner with a refreshing drink at camp. Overnight at Wilpena Pound.
The morning’s journey will take you south through the magnificent Southern Flinders Ranges with its spectacular red-gum-lined creeks to Melrose, the oldest town in the region. Wander down the main street and check out the historic buildings, such as Bluey Blundstone's Blacksmith. On the way back to Adelaide you’ll enjoy a stop in the beautiful Clare Valley wine region, and get to taste some of the local wines and produce.
