Before departing Adelaide for the Murray River, take a wander down North Terrace. Adelaide's cultural boulevard is home to the city's grandest treasure troves. You'll find South Australia’s State Art Gallery, museum, library, and botanic gardens, which are all free to visit. Coaches to the river depart from the Adelaide Central Bus Station. If you have a vehicle, locked garaging facilities are available in Murray Bridge where the cruise departs.Once you’ve settled into your comfortable onboard accommodation, you may like to join fellow passengers in the dining room for a pre-dinner drink before a delicious hot supper is served. Start the day with breakfast in the dining room as you cruise upstream. After breakfast, why not visit the Captain in the wheelhouse - he’s always happy to chat to visitors as he steers you along the Murray River. After berthing in the historic town of Mannum you’ll have some free time to explore the shops and galleries along the main street. Pop into the Mannum Dock Museum, home of the famous PS Marion paddle steamer, before returning to the Proud Mary for lunch. In the afternoon, enjoy a guided cruise led by an expert ecologist through the lagoons and inlets of the Mighty Murray, followed by a traditional Aussie barbecue on shore around a blazing campfire.
